Upfront we may be given a team or asked what resources will be required. From a review of the project objectives, stakeholder goals and budget and timeline goals a first approximation of the likely resource requirements can be determined. As the project progresses and features and user stories are identified, skills and ability to meet the project goals can be checked against the current team’s skills. Gaps emerging may indicate different roles are required. Likewise, velocity and quality metrics may provide insights into team role requirements as the project progresses. |
